What similarities do you see between the united states today and the united states of the past? what

The United States has some experiences/conflicts that are seen on a consistent basis.
For example, the power of the federal government is one that has been seen throughout history. The development of the US Constitution saw Anti-federalists fighting against Federalists in terms of what rights/powers the federal government should have. Today, debates still arise over the issue of what powers the federal government has, especially when it comes to the issue of implied powers.
One success that we share with the Americans in the past is the desire for innovation. Throughout American history, developments in communication and transportation continue to positively influence American society. Even though this is different depending on the time period, the spirit of ingenuinity is something that is seen in all times of American history. This is especially true for the era of the Market Revolution (development of canals, railroads) and today (iPhones, Personal computers, etc.)
I see similarities in many things that the United States used to have issues with. Many people fought for African American and Women’s rights but now it is becoming an issue again. Yes, things are much better than they were in the past, but women still are being segregated in ways that men aren’t. Segregation in many ways is still an issue in the united states, and most likely always will be because of how the past was. Something that is a similarity that is very apparent is the fact that immigration is very much still a huge part of our nation and our economic growth. Another similarity is the structure of the government. This is something that has been in place for a very long time and with only small changes has worked for us for a long time.
Its not as bad as it was but racism is still around. You can still see it all around you with all the cops and black lives matter stuff. Another problem we have is a split house. Lincoln was president up north (im gonna be completly honest i dont know the other dude) and now everbody is crying about trump being president and wanting hillary in and all that...i honestly didnt want either of em but people dont see me crying about it
Successes: there is no longer racism laws (Rosa Parks, & Martin Luther King Jr )
We are both still one united nation. The untied states of the past faced many hardships when the country began to grow. And today our country is still facing many hardships. It many not have to do with the growth of our country however they have to do with human rights. Many people of color are being wrongly accused, made fun of and murdered nowadays. Back with our old USA people of color faced many hardships including slavery and equal pay to the white man.
Our successes with the past include many people standing up for the little guy. In the past there was MLK, and Harriet Tubman and currently we have more like organizations helping out by giving kids of color or even kids that are just struggling college scholarships or even help them with education
