Helen seems to play multiple roles in the book like being a great and caring friend of Helen all the way up to Helen's death. Helen proves herself to be a true friend and provides support and reassurance to Jane. This is all happening while Jane is being unfairly punished. Helen's death was tragic for Jane and as the readers  know that Jane never forgets her, as she eventually puts a stone over Helen's grave.

Miss Temple is also a person that plays a big role in the life of Jane. Miss Temple is a model of a fair and sympathetic teacher.  She is also a mother figure to Janeand helps her to reach her full potential in life. She also sticks up for Jane and eventually helps her become a teacher. When Miss Temple leaves the school after getting married, Jane decides to leave as well. This takes her to Thornfield. The reader of the book can get a better understanding of the way that Helen, Jane's loyal friend, describe Miss Temple this way speaks volumes because she herself is very fair-minded and admirable towards Jane. Miss Temple's strongest quality is her ability to be a role model from the girls, this quality is depicted by Jane as "considerable organ of veneration, for I yet retain the sense of admiring awe with which my eyes traced her steps" (216).

Helen and Miss Temple are key figures in Jane's development as a young woman and how they helped  Jane to grow into a young woman during her time at Lowood.

Erkan’s eyes looked impudent beneath his dark brow as his cheeks reddened in fury. His gray-whiskered lips trembled as his hand gripped tightly around the nurse’s wrist. “Phillip’s trying to get Erkan to take a shower and he needs your help.”  she wanted to intern at her dad’s gas station, but her teacher told her she needed to branch out and signed Michelle up at the Oakcourt Nursing Home, only 15 minutes away from her house.  She moved past them and rushed to Erkan’s side.  Michelle had been frightened by a lot of the residents of the nursing home when she first started the beginning of the semester. Besides, he was the only person in the whole place with skin nearly as dark as hers. Bit by bit, she discovered that he had immigrated to the United States from Turkey when he was very young.  someone will know how to find you and remind you that we all feel that way sometimes. In “Out of Place,” how has Ekran’s relationship with Michelle affected him? Discuss interactions between the two characters and explain how Ekran reacts to these interactions.

Explanation:

Nativism is a policy that holds the interest of those born in a territory over inmigrants. During mid- 1800s and 1900s nativism increased in America due to inmigration of Europeans, who were considered as rivals for taking away from americans job and housing oportunities. "The unrestricted dumping-ground" cartoon perfectly shows how Americans saw the italian inmigrants, decribing them as the mafia, socialists and anarchists. Uncle Sam stands by the american flag as he sees how these italians come from the "slums of Europe". Nativism can clearly be seen in the "wagon" labeled as "Direct from the Slums of Europe daily" showing the american view of recieving in their country the worst of Europe that compromise their safety.  Uncle Sam wearing the colors of America's flag tries to represent the patriotism and the difference between the United State citizens and the rats comming from abroad. And finally, nativism is representated in the cartoon's title, which in a passive way blames the goverment for the lack of restriction to inmigration, affecting American's interests and safety.
